Colors often look different on a screen than they do in print because screens use RGB light, while printers use CMYK inks. Screens can display brighter, more vibrant colors than many printers can reproduce. Color can also vary from one phone or monitor to another depending on brightness, calibration, display settings, and surrounding light.

The final printed color may also be affected by the material, finish, laminate, ink, and lighting conditions. Digital proofs are best used to approve layout, spelling, and general color direction rather than exact color. For projects where precise color matching is important, a physical printed sample should be approved before full production.
